Here is an easy Apple Crisp recipe your whole family will enjoy. I got this recipe from Fox Living with Amy and modified it a bit. It tastes really yummy.
Ingredients:
4 cups sliced Apples (about 5-6 regular sized apples)
1 Tbsp ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt (you may do away or reduce if using salted butter)
1/4 cup Water
Crumb topping:
1/3 cup chilled Butter (cut up into cubes)
1 cup brown Sugar (I would easily reduce this to 3/4 or 1/2 cup, depends on sweetness preference. I used 3/4 cup and it was still quite sweet)
3/4 cups all-purpose Flour
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter or spay an 8x8 pan with cooking spray.
- Layer apples in the bottom of your baking pan then sprinkle with cinnamon, salt, and water. (Alternatively, mix apples with cinnamon, salt and water and then layer in bottom of pan)
- Combine crumb topping ingredients with a pastry blender or use a food processor until crumbly. (Personally, I like to use the food processor. It speeds up mixing time immensely!)
- Sprinkle topping mixture over apples and bake for 40 minutes.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or milk.
