Rules:
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
1. I seem to have a short-term memory. So, I won't be able to recall all the little details or facts of my life. I couldn't recall much of my life from 6 yrs old and below. I am imagining my list to be all over the place. So don't be surprised if I jump from one topic to the next.
2. I am the 5th of 7 kids. 4 older brother and I'm the eldest of the next 2 girls. My family have been a huge part of growing up and my 2 sisters and mom have been my best friends. Even more than kids my age.
3. I didn't have the desire to go out and do whatever after school when I was growing up (like usual kids in their early-teens to teenage years). I was always comfortable, and would rather go straight home. Kids at school always wondered why I was like this, that I'd rather be home than "going out" like most did (they hated being at home). Whenever they came over our house with me, they then realized and understood why I felt so comfortable and content to be at home.
4. During high school and my early years in college, I was always voted and nominated to represent my class for our school's beauty pageants. I won quite a few awards and places, in fact at one of them I was awarded as the "Darling of the Crowd".
5. I can be a good artist if I just kept on practicing. I remember winning 1st place in a Art/Poster slogan making contest in 4th grade. Also during 4th or 5th grade, in one of my art class, we were given the homework of drawing anything (picture) using any medium we wanted. I chose colored pencil and drew a beach sunset scenery from a post card. When I submitted my art work, my teacher didn't believe that I was the one who drew it. She said that I cheated and had someone do my art work for me. I told her that I was the one who did it. So to verify that I was indeed telling the truth and not lying, she asked me to redo the same art in class while she was watching. I did it again and almost exactly as the original one I drew. She was dumbfounded and believed me. I was her best art student then.
6. I do and learn things in bursts but never follow through. I started learning how to play the piano, took piano lessons and all, even accompanied church hymns at one time. But I never had the knack to following through and practicing. In fact, my sister Cheryl said I was the inspiration for her to learn to play the piano. Well, she got really good at it (being more diligent than I am) and I just withered. This is the same case with guitar playing, violin, writing, etc.
7. I am a very laid back kind of a person. I can be a scatter-brain and disorganized (not to mention the short-term memory). However, when I start doing some organizing, I will keep at it until it is perfectly done right.
8. Being not too organized, I am a perfectionist. When doing something, like homework, projects, anything... I like it to be perfect and I won't stop until it is perfect. This is one reason I don't like delegating work. It was hard for me being a team leader in school projects, because I feel I can not trust my group mates to meet my perfectionist expectations. I often times do the project myself (even though it would have been a group effort).
9. In my Sophomore year in High School, I represented my class for extemporaneous speech, which I won 1st place. The interesting part is that, 2 of my other siblings were in the same school and also had them represent their own classes. There were 4 contestants, and 3 of them were Macaraeg's. All 3 of us won, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
10. Believe it or not, I met my husband thru the internet (yacog.org). I never wanted to say it that way... it sounds so "worldly" and unlady like, so I always say, we met thru a "church thing". I never thought of anything then (just casual friends) until he came to visit me one Feast.
11. I am happily married to him now. He is the greatest blessing in my life (besides God and my family--but then they are all wrapped and connected together). We got married on Oct. 9, 2003, after 3 years of courting and getting to know each other. We were together for just one week after we got married and were apart for 6 months (he had to go back home to the US, while I waited for my visa papers to go through).
12. I am a mom to 2 adorable, smart and beautiful kids. A boy, turning 4 yrs old in October and a girl, turning 2 yrs old in April... with one more on the way. Yes, I am expecting our 3rd baby in early June, another girl. Motherhood has got to be the most rewarding, challenging and important job there is in the whole world. No matter what others say otherwise.
13. I used to be very patient (no pet-peeves, no matter how much one can try to annoy me, won't bother me a bit). I thought I was the most patient person there could be... until I started having kids. They can definitely test your patience. I am and can still be patient, but now I am finding it harder and more challenging to stay patient and focused and not get annoyed.
14. I graduated from College with a degree in BS-Computer Science. My hubby thinks I am a geek. I think I could be ;)
15. I was baptized twice. But I recognize my 2nd baptism, which was on September 29th, 1999. I find that being baptized was one of my most important decisions in my life, second to that is my being married. And I take my calling very seriously.
16. I am finding that I am running out of randoms things about me... and this list is getting long and tiresome.
17. I used to be shy when I was a little kid, but then I became an extrovert when I hit pre-teens. I was dubbed the 'life of the party' or the 'spark-plug' in a group. Now, I am finding myself back to where I was, being introvert and wanting to keep to myself more now.
18. I value the importance of womanhood and femininity. I admire women/ladies and men with good values and breeding (proper conduct).
19. I strive to become a woman of faith and strength -- A Godly Christian woman, wife and mother for my husband, family, kids, church, community and foremost to God. A blessing and light to all.
20. I find that the greatest gift my parents ever gave me besides life (thru God) was the opportunity to be called out from this world and know God and His Truth. I was raised in a very loving, God-centered and family-oriented atmosphere. The values they have passed and taught me would forever be instilled in my mind and heart. I have nothing but pleasant, wonderful and inspiring memories growing up in my family. Of course, there are some not too pleasant memories but they are nothing compared to the wonderful things and memories.
21. I am an optimistic person. I like to see the good in everything and in everyone (that's maybe one reason I had friends from different walks of life growing up). I do not like to dwell on the negatives, and it makes me feel very sad when someone talks or continually berates something or someone because of a flaw.
22. I make a good cook. I love cooking and baking. I almost always modify a recipe I find to be tasty, to be my own, and surprisingly it turns out to be really yummy (from comments of my other eaters) of course.
23. I love creating things. I am good with imagining things and making them come to life. I can view/picture out something in my head in great detail, and then create it. This is true with recipes, craft projects, art, anything crafty. I have designed and made almost a dozen wedding invitation cards (some quite intricate), or anything that involves art, creativity, my computer and Photoshop. Yes, I love Adobe Photoshop.
24. I got into a few fights in school. I used to be a boy-hater when I was younger. I get annoyed and irritated when a boy tries to get my attention or act flirty towards me or with my sisters. At 1st grade, a boy sitting behind me kept poking at me with his pencil. I finally got so irritated that I turned around and grabbed his pencil and broke it in half in front of his face. The look on his face was priceless. :) Another instance, in 5th grade, a girl in my class was belittling my faith (religion) and saying that it was of Satan's. Well, I was ignoring her and asking her to stop when she slapped me and pulled my blouse causing some of my buttons to pop. I got so mad I grabbed her by her blouse collar, twister her arm behind her and slammed her against the chalk board and told her to stop it. She did not dare touch me after that. And one instance that involved my sister. There were 2 boys that were bugging my little sister to the point that my sister would tell me about them. One afternoon before class I saw them sitting next to each other on the steps and I approached them and grabbed both of their hair and slammed their heads together and told them to quit bugging my sis. Oh, I have more stories, I'm afraid I would make this too long and think that I am mean and brutal. =P
25. I think one of the things my dad like about me is that I can be a handyman. At an early age, I didn't only take interest and was good at the fine arts of womanhood and household duties, but was a jack-of-all trades kinda gal. I could do some carpentry, plumbing work, electrical, auto mechanic (one time I helped my dad overhaul our vehicle), painting, wood crafts, and I would know all his tools /power tools by name and sight and can tell you what they are used for. I was the only girl in the house that you can see with a hammer or screwdriver 'fixing things'.
