If you remember my last post on my crochet projects, I mentioned about making the summer hat I made for Aubrey in its original pattern. Well, I did make it. I made it for my niece Shoshana (Cheryl's baby girl). I was quite surprised at the difference from making it with the right yarn weight / guage compared to the one I used for Aubrey. And yes, it did turn out pretty nice and fairly easy to make. :)
The yarn I used for it was a fingering weight kind of yarn. Pink 100% cotton yarn, Size 10; and White 100% cotton yarn, Size 30 (for the lacy trim). The size 30 yarn is almost like a thread... only a more heavy duty kind of thread.
