4th Anniversary

E-mail Print PDF

October 9th marked our 4th anniversary.  Much has happened in our lives in the past 4 years.  It seems that only yesterday Laurie and I were planning our wedding and waiting on her visa to come through.  Within these past 4 years we have had 2 beautiful children, finished remodeling and own our own home, have had to get a new family vehicle, a great job for me which also contracts work to Laurie, and a love for one another that grows strong every day.

All these things would not be possible if it were not for God being the center of our lives, and His blessings that He has given us.  Without God, I never would have met and eventually married my beautiful wife.  As undeserving as I am of God's love and blessings, He has given me a wife that is more than I could have ever imagined.  A virtuous woman that is as much a spiritual helper as a physical helper.  I thank God for her every day of my life.

I received a very special gift from her this year.  She gave me a small, heart shaped box which contained 48 origami butterflies.  Each butterfly contained one of the many reasons that she loves me.  Being a guy, I don't cry much, but this brought a tear to my eye.  She also gave me one of our favorite wedding photos in a nice small frame for my office desk.  I love my wife so much, and her gift to me was a very special way of showing her love for me.  Being a guy, my gift to her was of a more practical nature, though I felt it was still intimate in it's own way.  I bought her a warm, soft, knit hat, gloves, scarf set.  It was something she has wanted for a while now, and it represented how I wanted to keep her warm physically as much as in love.

I had the pleasure of treating my wife out not once, but twice for our anniversary, be it a week early, to two very nice restaurants for dinner.  For the first dinner, we went to Fields at the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells during the Feast of Tabernacles, and for the second dinner we went to Sarento's, also in Wisconsin Dells during the Feast.  They were very enjoyable evenings for just the two of us.  As much as we love our children, it's important to get away once in a while to have "Us" time.  My parents watched the children for us while we enjoyed the company of one another over a nice glass of wine and a delicious meal.

All and all, it was a very refreshing and blessed 4th anniversary.  I could not and would not want to live my life without my wonderful, beautiful, and amazing wife, Laurie Lynn, by my side.  Thank you God with all my heart, and thank you Laurie for being my wife, my helper, my best friend, my lover, my soul-mate.
